Thank you. Most of the time we find this at the end of a note, but this holiday season I’m trying to give all the thanks I can, so I’m putting it at the beginning. It’s often hard for me to find the words—and the time—to express my gratitude for the amazing people I get to work with everyday. My team and our recovery partners are certainly dear to me, as are those who support the often painstaking work we have given our lives to over the last couple years. As we set our sights on a new year filled with continued progress for our fire-impacted valley, our mission of long-term recovery, readiness and resilience continues to grow in exponential and often surprising ways. It will continue to take all of us to make it happen. Firebrand’s work is centered around (re)building connective tissue at the neighborhood level to navigate our experience and reckoning with natural disasters. By leveraging the relationships within our neighborhoods, our families, and our schools to deliver services, we believe that this special place we call the Rogue Valley—like so many other communities affected by disaster—will emerge more resilient than before. So, thank you. Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, so thank you for taking a moment to support work that sometimes seems impossible, for exploring the accomplishments we are celebrating in 2022, and for helping us reach the goals our team has set for the year ahead. Thank you all for your part in making our fire-affected region better, stronger, and more resilient for the generations to come.
