Our Story

Born in the chaotic days following the devastation of the Labor Day 2020 wildfires, Firebrand Resiliency Collective emerged from a moment of clarity amidst crisis. We took a step back from providing direct relief to ask, “What comes next?” We are fire-affected residents and business owners, organizers and activists, farmers, builders, retirees, who share a direct stake in our community’s future. We are united by our love for this community and our commitment to help shape its future.

In the face of unimaginable loss, we chose hope. Over the long first years of recovery, we learned that lasting change happens when communities lead. That lesson is still at the heart of everything we do. We still stand with survivors navigating the long arc of wildfire recovery—providing resource navigation, supporting resilient rebuilds, and uplifting lived experience as a source of expertise. We have also carried that same grassroots spirit into wildfire preparedness—supporting residents to become mitigation experts on their own homes and neighborhoods, empowering them to lead, and building networks of mutual aid and resilience. Since the earliest days, we have embraced new technologies and the power of data to tell impactful stories and innovate new solutions that can be embedded within the community.

We believe that great tragedy also brings great opportunity: not only to rebuild and restore what was lost, but to reimagine what’s possible. We work alongside community members to reduce risk, improve systems, and ensure that everyone has a voice and a role in shaping our long term resilience to disaster.

This is not just about surviving the last fire. It’s about transforming how we respond and prepare for the next one—together. Please. Join us.
