Supporting the Possible: Our Goals for 2026

Here at Firebrand, we have a lot of big plans for the year ahead. And in order to see all of those plans in action, it’s going to require collaboration and support from our network.

With flexible community sourced funding, we can say “yes” more quickly when communities are ready to act. Here’s what we’ll accomplish together this year:

We’ll build 10 new Firewise Communities in high-risk areas—pairing traditional benefits with additional Firebrand services, including – community-led evacuation drills, resource mapping to identify vulnerable residents and community assets, and local advocacy for public land management. Each new community becomes a node of preparedness that ripples outward.

We’ll support 75+ Households with Home Hardening Incentives, from removing bark mulch to installing ember-resistant vent screens—prioritizing low-income, senior, and rural families who face the highest risk and fewest resources.

We’ll train 30 New Wildfire Risk Assessors through a three-day intensive program—growing a resident-led corps that educates, organizes, and strengthens communities from within. More than “train the trainer”; it’s neighbors helping neighbors.

We’ll complete 150+ Home Wildfire Risk Assessments with an assessor corps of trained community members—helping families understand their specific vulnerabilities and reduce risks to their households before the next fire season.

We’ll launch our Grid-Independent Resilience Hub in downtown Phoenix—completing a solar-powered, disaster-ready space for emergency connectivity, resource access, medical device charging, and mutual aid resupply when systems fail.

We’ll support Bilingual Wildfire Education & Youth Engagement through K-12 partnerships and Spanish-language outreach campaigns—growing the next generation of wildfire safety leaders and ensuring no one is left behind when fire strikes.

And Finally… We’re Going to Put the Tools in Your Hands by delivering a public wildfire-readiness web tool that gives every resident a personalized action plan—connecting you directly to trusted contractors, local programs, funding opportunities, and step-by-step guidance to help you protect your home, land, and community!

2026 is going to be a big year for us and our community, and we are deeply grateful to our community members for their ongoing support as we work to make out valley more resilient to wildfire, together.
